Lollipop Flowers in 3D

I like making little flower pictures. I read an article on how to make applique flowers all poofy and dimensional (I'm not sure that poofy is an actual art term).

It's raining sideways here this morning, but it's all good because I'm hoping it will jumpstart the vegetation into turning green again. I need to see some real flowers. We're planning to put in a little block-patio out front where I'll be able to do some container gardening - containers that can be moved to the garage when the inevitable frost strikes again. Gotta buy me some big old flower pots now. --cds

Memory Quilt Complete

I was commissioned to put these memory blocks together as wedding gift quilt. Some of them are really cute and personal. A nice remembrance for the wedding couple. I had to hand-quilt around the blocks and the stitches were not so small, unfortunately, but some of the blocks were quite stiff with paint, sequins and various other mediums. Next up, a couple of valances for my Mom's kitchen windows. We've been busy here! Ma and I have been to the gym every day for a week. The woman can rock a treadmill, I'll tell you. --cds

Breakfast!

Picked these up at the Farmers' Market on Saturday - some sort of cross between a tangerine and orange - very juicy and sweet, and they seemed to escape the death-by-frost that struck our area last week. All my foliage plants have lost their top leaves, but the pansies survived just fine - sturdy little devils. I've had a vitamin-packed breakfast as I'm off to give blood this morning. The need for blood never stops here in the USA either - please donate if you are able. --cds

More Moon Stuff

This was the result of some of my New Year's Day blue moon musings. Below is a little 5" x 7" or so something or other.
I've been putting together this quilt top for a friend of a friend, and I'll get it backed and bound tomorrow. Some of the blocks are really cute and make a nice memory quilt.

Florida Ice

I meant to post these earlier so Isabella and Evie could see Cinderella's Castle encased in twinkley white Christmas lights, looking like an ice castle. Truly a mesmerizing sight in person. In real life, we're facing our second night of frosty temperatures. We've covered our tender plants with blankets hoping they won't be nipped. It's so sad to see all that wilted greenery. --cds
